Other shows were not immediately affected, including the talk show "Ellen," which will continue production. Host Ellen DeGeneres told her studio audience at Tuesday's taping that she was obligated under her contract to continue the show, although she supported the striking writers.
"I want to say I love my writers," DeGeneres said. "In honor of them today, I'm not going to do a monologue. I support them and hope that they get everything they're asking for. And I hope it works out soon."-Yahoo.com
Here is a great article about Ellen's show being affected by the strike from Broadcastingcable.com. Click here for the article.
I just thought I would point this out.
Ellen's website didn't have her Thought of the day and her lunch segment was very bland and didn't have any jokes cause I think the writers usually write those segments.

Ellen's a no-show
Ellen didn't show up at work today in support of the writer's strike.
"Debbie Stephens and Stephanie Springer drove all the way down from Sacramento to see a taping of the "Ellen DeGeneres Show."
They showed up at NBC at 6 this morning to get tickets.
A network representative stood outside the gate to tell then there would be no show today. "Ellen" is canceled thanks to the writers' strike.
Debbie and Stephanie were given "Ellen" t-shirts as a consolation."-KTLA.com

The Writers Guild of America approved a strike starting Monday and here's how it will effect Ellen and Portia's appearances.
-The Ellen Degeneres Show will continue to air new episodes but with a few changes (see the end of this blog for some of the possible changes).
-Ellen's appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno will be cancelled.
-Portia's appearance on Live With Regis and Kelly will not be affected by the strike.
Here's a excerpt from Broadcastingcable.com
Most syndicated shows don't employ guild writers, and if they do, they have already made significant contingency plans.
Warner Bros.' The Ellen DeGeneres Show, for example, has several guild writers on staff, all of whom will strike.
