Update: Ellen found a buyer for the Montecito house and she bought a new house.
"Comedian Ellen DeGeneres has found a buyer for her $24 million Santa Barbara County estate and recently bought a furnished house in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The property in contract is her four-acre Montecito retreat. The 49-year-old talk-show host bought the compound just 14 months ago, paying $15.75 million, and made some improvements, local brokers said. The property includes a 1926 Mediterranean-style house, two guest houses, a tennis court and a pool. The deal's sale price could not be determined. Suzanne Perkins, of Sotheby's International Realty, has the listing.
Ms. DeGeneres also recently purchased the roughly 6,000-square-foot Beverly Hills home of Max Mutchnick, a co-creator of the hit sitcom "Will & Grace." Ms. DeGeneres knows Mr. Mutchnick, 42, from her guest-starring role on his sitcom. The sale price included many home furnishings and art, a person familiar with the deal said. The television producer bought...

Update: Here is another great article from a Santa Monica Mirror tv critic. Click here to read the article
Someone finally defendid Ellen for working during the strike. The Huffington Post has a great blog entry that talks about Ellen
"What Ellen is, is an individual responsible for keeping her television program on the air and securing the livelihoods of some 135 people she has on staff. One hundred and thirty-five people who would find themselves out of work, without paychecks and -- with both a strike on and a holiday season approaching -- not many prospects for making money."

Update: A segment about Ellen's visit to Deal or no Deal aired on her show today and she wore a dress!
Here's the video

I can't wait to see the whole episode of Deal or No Deal!

Ellen will be on of the 26 brief case models on Deal Or No Deal scheduled to air in January of 2008.
"Ellen is a great supporter of the show and we were looking for our first celebrity model. Who better to do that than Ellen?" says Libby Hansen,
It's not clear whether or not Ellen will wear a dress (I doubt she will) but she has a agreed to be one of the models and she knows that they wear dresses.
Will DeGeneres really wear a dress? "Ellen knows our show and knows the kind of sparkly, sequined dresses our spokesmodels wear, and she's agreed to be [one of them]," Hansen says a bit...

I just got off the phone with some one from the show and they said that Ellen is not taping in NY on Nov. 19 and 20 like she had originally planed but I don't know if she will tape in NY a different day (although that is highly unlikely cause it takes a lot of prep.).
More details to come...

USA Today just posted a article about Portia and in the article Portia talks about adoption
"It depends when you ask us. A few months ago, we were thinking about it. I wouldn't want to say never, but at this point, it's not something I think we're going to do," she says. "But there are times when I think I'd be really selfish to not adopt a child so we'd share our life with somebody, a little child that really needs a home."
